ROCKET RACING
Overview
Since 2006, Rocket Racing produces multisport and running events for all ages and experience. In addition to the Goldenfliers 5 & 10 Miler, the organization comprises: Rocketkidz Foundation, the Rocketchix triathlon series, the Rocketkidz triathlon series and The Louisiana Marathon.
Rocketkidz Foundation
Pat Fellows founded The Rocketkidz Foundation in November 2006 to help raise money for programs in the Hurricane Katrina ravaged Mississippi Gulf Coast as well as Southeast Louisiana and to battle childhood obesity through multisport events, camp scholarship and grant programs. The Foundation is managed by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.
Rocketkidz Foundation funds in place programs (YMCA Youth and Family Programs, Inner City Swim Programs, Wheels to Succeed Girls on the Run, BREC fitness programs) as well as funding their own BoosterRocket Program that targets selected groups of at-risk kids to train and compete in the Rocketkidz LSU Triathlon. The Mission of the Foundation is to get kids and primary care givers of kids to focus more on health and wellness. Multisport events are the primary event focus to date, though any events that get kids moving or learning how to choose healthier lifestyle options are considered.
Rocket Racing Management Lead
The team at Rocket Racing is proud of their efforts on behalf of the Rocketkidz Foundation. Each year the events mature and the community of participants becomes more energized and focused on providing kids with positive life experiences through physical activity. Your involvement will further wellness and fitness programs in the region and make a tangible difference in someone’s life.
