RUNNING THE LAKES

Officially, the Lakes consists of 7 urban lakes ranging in size from 3 to 195 acres with approximately 300 acres in total. The man-made lakes were formed in the 1930’s when cypress swamps were timbered and dammed. Realistically, running the Lakes takes center stage in the local running scene. If you haven't run a loop before or in a while, then sign up for Goldenfliers and enjoy kicking off the holiday season with a fast, flat race with good friends and family.
